Dr. Keith Courtney

Psychiatrist & Medical Director, DO, FASAM, DABPN

Dr. Keith Courtney is the Medical Director of the Bloom Institute of Mental Health and Wellness in Calgary, Alberta. He has been the Medical Director of three prior mental health clinics focussed on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. 

Dr. Courtney graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in general psychiatry at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and a fellowship in cross-cultural psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is certified in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Integrative Psychiatry by the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. He has been on the faculties of Dartmouth University, the University of Vermont, Louisiana State University, and the University of Nevada. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. 

Dr. Courtney’s clinical and research interests include:

He has worked extensively with correctional inmates, homeless individuals, victims of war and other traumas, men’s mental health, the LGBTQI+ community, as well as performance arts communities.
