Maria Wu is the co-owner of Bloom Institute of Mental Health and Wellness, where she is dedicated to expanding access to compassionate, stigma-free mental health care. With extensive experience in building and launching medical clinics across Calgary, Maria has assisted in the development of over a dozen clinics, bringing both strategic insight and a deep understanding of patient-centered design.

Her work extends beyond Bloom to other successful healthcare ventures, currently including Velocity Injury Medical Clinic , Maud Medical Clinic, Aroused Medical Clinic where she has helped create innovative and welcoming care environments. Maria is especially passionate about building community-focused spaces that prioritize diversity, accessibility, and inclusive care for all individuals. She is driven by a commitment to reducing stigma and ensuring that healthcare environments feel safe, supportive, and empowering for everyone.

Beyond her entrepreneurial work, Maria is a dedicated advocate for women’s health and gender equity. She is actively involved with HPV Global Action, serves as Chair of the We Are Maud Foundation, and has been a persistent voice for advancing women’s rights and gender equality. Her advocacy efforts have been nationally recognized by the Governor General of Canada, and she is a recipient of the Governor General’s Award for Women and Gender Equality.
