Mary Heyde: Lead Advanced Care Paramedic

I have the honor of walking alongside people as they enter some of the most profound and vulnerable moments of their lives. As a Lead Advanced Care Paramedic working with Bloom Institute of Mental Health and Wellness, I blend medical expertise with deep compassion to create a safe, supportive, and transformative space for every client I serve.

For me, safety is more than just physical — it’s emotional, psychological, and spiritual. I take great care in preparing each individual before their journey, creating a setting that feels nurturing, grounded, and open. During sessions, I hold space with presence and gentleness, offering reassurance and guidance when needed, while always respecting the unique path of each person’s inner exploration.

I know that psychedelic experiences can bring both beauty and challenge. My role is to support clients through all of it — whether that means offering comfort in moments of fear and uncertainty, or helping integrate insights afterward into meaningful change in daily life.

Over the years, I’ve also been privileged to help develop protocols for safe ketamine-assisted therapy, train and mentor paramedic staff, and work collaboratively with psychiatrists, medical directors, and psychotherapists to ensure each client receives the highest level of care.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple intention: to meet every person with respect, presence, and heart-centered care, and to help create a space where healing and transformation can unfold safely.
