Heather Karasch — Psychiatric RN, CCC

Registered Nurse & Certified Canadian Counsellor

Heather brings over 15 years of experience supporting clients through complex mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, BPD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, and relational or parenting struggles. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based and somatic approaches, DBT, and mindfulness practices, tailoring her work to each client's needs. Heather holds a Master of Nursing and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, bringing together medical and psychological models of care. She trained at the Calgary Family Therapy Centre and continues to work within the public system as a Family Counsellor on mental health inpatient units, supporting youth and families through crisis and trauma. Heather believes healing often requires more than symptom management. Many of her clients arrive feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns they can't seem to shift, and her work is grounded in the belief that every person holds the resilience and capacity for meaningful change. Drawing on both medical and holistic models of care, she supports the whole person — emotionally, mentally, relationally, and spiritually — while honoring each client's inner wisdom and strengths. She has particular experience and enthusiasm for working with youth and families navigating parent-child relational struggles, and offers a warm, grounded, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel genuinely seen and supported.
